John Raymond Coats, 42 of Woodlawn passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born January 16, 1980 in Pine Bluff to the late Donald Coy and Sheila Adams Coats.
John was a stocker for Wal-Mart, an avid video gamer and comic book reader, loved to watched movies and YouTube, and loved spending time with his wife and family, especially his nieces and nephews and his fur babies.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Puckett Coats of Woodlawn; sisters, Brandy Wolfe of Warren and Deana (Scott) Bond of Sheridan; aunts, Marty (James) Erwin of Rison and Hortense (Paul) Kirkpatrick of Woodlawn; mother-in-law, Robin Puckett of Woodlawn; sister-in-law, Lindsey (Joe) Puckett of Woodlawn; nieces and nephews, Jacob Wolfe, Lexci Purifoy, Zion Purifoy, and Anayla Purifoy; fur babies, Foxy, Xena, Prince and Snoopy; and numerous other family members.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022 at Griffin Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Leopard officiating. Visitation was Thursday, August 11, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial in Roselawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Shumake, Donnie Green, Jacob Wolfe, Joey Chastain, Mitch Johnson, Dakota Johnson, and Joseph Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Zion Purifoy, Todd Brewster, and Mike Johnson.
