Randy Gates, age 71 of Moro Bay, Ark. passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at UAMS in Little Rock, Ark. He was born on June 20, 1953 in Warren, Ark. to the late Jimmy Gates and Bernice Reynolds Gates. He was a member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, worked as a river pilot on the Moro Bay ferry, and retired from the Arkansas State Highway Department. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being on the water, but most of all he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife Debbie Jenkins Gates of Moro Bay, Ark.; sons, Brandon Gates (Chasity) of El Dorado, Ark. and Garett Gates (Kayla) of Warren, Ark.; daughter, Sydney Kidwell (BJ) of Sterlington, Louisiana; sister, Judy Gates of Moro Bay, Ark and grandchildren, Luke, Makenzie, and Madilyn Gates, and Finn, Remi and Mia Kidwell.
Funeral service was held Sunday, September 15, 2024, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial in Gravelridge Cemetery. Arrangements by Frazer’s Funeral Home.
