Phillip Hall’s return to Warren marks a new chapter in both his professional and personal life. After years of military service and experience in the automotive industry, he is bringing his knowledge and passion for customer service to Union Bank’s lending team. A family man at heart, Hall’s decision to join the bank was motivated by his desire to spend more time with his loved ones, while also contributing to the community he calls home. His journey reflects not only his dedication to service but also his appreciation for the simple things in life. As he settles into his new role, Hall is excited to apply his skills and build lasting relationships with the customers of Union Bank.
Hall, the most recent addition to the lending team at the Warren branch of Union Bank, is originally from Banks. He attended school in Warren, and he’s happy to return.
“Starting a job at Union Bank here in Warren is like coming home,” Hall said. “I’m excited to be here.”
He and his wife Michallee have been married for 24 years and have two children, Aiden, who is 20, and Allie, who is 14.
Hall, who is a veteran, served two tours overseas, and one big takeaway for him is that we should be thankful for the little things in life.
“You really see what’s important and what we undervalue,” he explained. “You learn not to take things for granted. It’s the simple things in life that we overlook.”
For Hall, family is very important, and when asked what his motivation for moving to Union Bank was, he answered without hesitation.
“The biggest factor for coming here was being able to spend more time with my family, and Union Bank provided me with the best outlet for that,” Hall responded. “I weighed all of the options, prayed, and talked to my wife and kids. You can’t buy more time with your family, and that’s basically what it came down to.”
Before coming to Union Bank, Hall worked in Monticello at Ryburn Automotive, and because of his experience at Ryburn, he feels that he can bring more insight to the automotive side of lending.
“For the last 15 years, I have made a point to know my customers and their needs and do whatever it takes to meet their needs,” Hall said. “I’ve been around the lending side for 12 years. I’ve worked hard to learn all of the ins and outs to meet those needs. I think that translates perfectly into my new role here at Union Bank in the lending department.”
One aspect of his role at Union Bank that Hall enjoys is getting to interact with customers.
“It’s not so much about the finance,” Hall said. “It’s about helping and meeting people. I never meet a stranger. I talk to everybody and if I can help them in their time of need or whatever they want to do, I think that’s just a bonus.”
But not all finance is the same. Hall has adapted to new methods in his new role.
“There are new ways to look at things,” Hall said. “I’ve had to get rid of old habits and adopting a new system. That’s going to be my biggest challenge, but I think it’s going to be good.”
Hall also added that his new colleagues have been very helpful in making his transition to Union Bank easier.
“No matter what I need, they’re there,” Hall explained.
Phillip Hall’s journey to Union Bank is a testament to his commitment to family, community, and customer service. With a rich background in both auto lending and military service, Hall brings a unique perspective and dedication to his new role at the Warren branch. His focus on building relationships with customers and adapting to new challenges highlights his enthusiasm and resilience. As he continues to settle into his position, Hall is driven by the desire to make meaningful contributions not only to his customers but also to spend quality time with his family. His story is a reminder of the significance of appreciating the little things in life and the value of coming home.
