Chapel Woods holds dedication ceremony

Chapel Woods hosted a dedication ceremony for its newly remodeled chapel on Sunday, February 16. The newly renovated sanctuary was filled with friends and family of residents. The celebration included a tribute to Sue Wagnon by Susan Wolfe, sermons delivered by Grace Cowboy Church pastor Chris Barnes and Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church pastor Perry, music by Mt. Carmel’s choir and the worship band from Grace Cowboy Church.

Barbara Webb opened the celebration with words of encouragement.

“We want to treat the residents like I would treat my mom,” Webb said.

In Wolfe’s tribute, she spoke of Wagnon’s love for the chapel.

“Ms. Sue wanted the residents to have a true place to worship,” Wolfe said. “It was over the top in true ‘Sue’ fashion. Ms. Sue knew the importance of true faith. She didn’t take no for an answer and as healthcare workers, because we often have to work on Sundays, we are able to attend services because of the chapel.

Barnes spoke out of the book Haggai and rebuilding God’s temple. He also expressed his gratitude for the chapel.

“I’m excited to be here today,” Barnes said. “What an honor. There are going to be amazing things that come out of this. I’m thankful that the Lord put it on somebody’s heart to get the ball rolling on this project.”

To close out his sermon, Barnes prayed a blessing over the chapel.

Reverend Derrick Perry also gave some words of encouragement.

“Give me what God wants,” Perry said.

Those in attendance were able to enjoy refreshments provided by Chapel Woods.

Chapel Woods gave the following statement via social media.

“This event marks the beginning of a new chapter in our facility's history, and we welcome clergy members and couples interested in utilizing our Chapel for services and weddings. Going forward, for booking inquiries, please contact Chasity Clary at 870-226-6766.”
